Back in Spring I made changes to my working hours something I’m incredibly grateful to both my work and husband for supporting me in doing. Shifting things around to find a better balance for myself (it had been quite a rollercoaster of year) and home life. It was a big step, reducing my hours, staying at home, stepping away from any fixed childcare. Now 6 months in I can say it both scared and excited me. I had so many emotions around it. It’s been the right decision.
Going off on maternity leaves had been brilliant but to say now I’m only working a few hours a week and predominantly stay at home well it was a completely different thing. I really wanted it to be different as well from maternity, if that makes sense the kiddies were all moving to different stages, I didn’t want the weeks to go by without structure.
I’m rambling on, getting to the point I had a honest conversation with my husband. It was after a bit of heated discussion he said you have to grab things you want to do, the opportunities are there. It really upset me because it was honest, struck a cord and was true ( it’s annoying but the man is rarely wrong!).
I’m so glad we had that conversation.
I knew what I wanted, the missing piece was just another element in my week I wanted to add in.
Hence this project. My greeting cards, its only a simple project but it’s mine something I done myself. It’s made me feel like I’m setting a goal and going for it . Stepping outside my comfort zone ( the tech side has definitely been a step outside my comfort zone).
So this is my project it’s been some time in the thinking, ( a lot of faffing and procrastinating) but it’s live it’s here, I’m going say I’m proud of it. I’m proud of the pictures. I hope the greeting cards will brighten up someone’s day when they receive them. I’m proud of my instagram and it’s brought me here, this community adds so much to my day and is that extra element often in the week through sharing my creative pictures.
Here’s hoping it’s the start of lots of new projects. If you are thinking of adding something into your week, wanting to start a new project I would love to hear. We can cheer each other on together.
Love Elizabeth

Hello! First of all, I love your photos and your flowers. They are so beautiful and pleasing to look at! Second, you live on a farm in Northern Ireland? (read from your previous post) I’m jealous! I would love to live on a farm, but in Northern Ireland, how lovely it must be! I live in the state of Tennessee in the USA. It is my goal to have a farm and your flowers serve as a big inspiration for my gardens if ever my dream comes true.
